1. Scope
This policy applies to voicetypingai.com, the Voice Typing page, the Dictation page, and messages sent to our published contact address. It does not replace the privacy terms of your browser, operating system, microphone provider, internet provider, or any external service you use after copying or exporting text.
2. Draft text in the public editors
The quick Voice Typing editor keeps the visible draft in the page while it is open. The Dictation editor also attempts to save the document title and draft in the browser’s local storage so the draft can be restored on that device and browser.
The current public editors do not intentionally send draft text to a VoiceTypingAI account or document database. There is currently no account sync for these web editors. Local storage is not a durable backup: private browsing, storage restrictions, clearing site data, browser changes, or device changes may remove or hide it. Export important work.
3. Speech recognition and microphone access
Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to start voice typing or dictation. Live recognition is provided through speech-recognition functionality exposed by the browser or operating system. Depending on that provider, audio or derived information may be processed remotely and may require a network connection.
VoiceTypingAI does not control the provider’s audio processing, retention, model training, or regional availability. Review the privacy settings and terms that apply to your browser and device before dictating confidential, legally privileged, medical, financial, employment, or similarly sensitive material.
4. Information you send to us
If you email us, we receive the address, message, subject, and any attachments or technical details you choose to include. We use that information to respond, investigate a reported problem, understand a request, protect the service, or keep an appropriate business record.
Please do not send passwords, payment credentials, authentication codes, government identifiers, private voice recordings, or full confidential transcripts. Use a short, redacted example when reporting recognition behavior.
5. Technical and hosting information
Like most websites, hosting and network infrastructure may process information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, request time, requested path, user-agent string, approximate network information, and error or security logs. The exact information available depends on the hosting configuration in use.
If analytics or additional measurement tools are introduced, this policy should be updated to describe them before they are used for broader collection. The current codebase does not include an account-based transcript analytics system.
6. Why information may be used
- To provide, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the website.
- To respond to questions, feedback, language requests, and legal enquiries.
- To understand failures through technical and error information.
- To prevent abuse, fraud, malicious activity, or disruption.
- To comply with applicable obligations and enforce our terms.
8. Retention
Locally saved dictation remains in browser storage until it is cleared by the editor, the browser, the device, or the user. Contact emails and related business records may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain records, resolve disputes, protect the service, or meet applicable requirements. Security and technical logs may be kept for operationally appropriate periods.
9. Your choices
- Do not grant microphone access; the editors remain available for manual typing.
- Stop listening at any time using the editor control or browser permission UI.
- Clear the dictation draft or remove this site’s local storage through browser settings.
- Export text before clearing local data.
- Contact us to ask about information you directly sent to our email address.
Legal rights differ by location and may be subject to exceptions. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request before acting on it.
10. Security and limitations
We use reasonable care appropriate to the current service, but no website, device, browser storage system, email channel, or network transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Local storage is accessible to someone who can use the same browser profile. Choose content accordingly and maintain your own backups.
11. Children
The service is not designed to solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us without appropriate authorization, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.
12. Changes to this policy
The policy may change as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates should be reflected by a revised effective date and, where appropriate, an additional notice.
13. Contact
